How To Highlight Your Best Features

April 6th, 2008 by cynthyashtulman

By Allison Saunders Accentuate the Positive: Beautiful features come in all shapes and sizes. Gorgeous eyes, pouty lips, sculpted cheekbones, artfully arched brows, a flawless complexion. You may not have them all hardly anyone has them ALL. But chances are, youve got at least one one really gorgeous facial asset that’s the envy of your friends. So, are you making the most of what youve got? Lips full, pouty, inviting lips. If youve got them, youre blessed. Make them as kissable as possible. Lip balm with sunscreen is a must. On no make-up days and even under your lipstick. Use a lip balm/moisturizer after you remove your lipstick at the end of the day. Lipstick and liner should be checked and reapplied every few hours to ensure that all eyes are on your best features for the right reasons. Gloss makes those lips even more tempting. Eyes the window to the soul. How about dressing up your baby blues, your doe-eyes or your emerald beauties? Eye shadow should complement your complexion, not match your sandals. Have a make-up professional sample different colors on you. Choose a color combination for day and a separate one for nights out on the town. Two or three shadow colors give your eyelids dimension. Waterproof mascara is great at weddings and graduations, but not for everyday. It dries out your lashes and causes them to fall out. Don’t touch your eyes or rub them. This causes wrinkles and introduces bacteria. Give some attention to your brows once a week. Always use a makeup remover made for your eyes, wiping gently with a cotton ball. Cheeks we all have cheekbones. Using a good quality, large make-up brush - not the little, cute one that comes with your blusher - is the key to applying blush. Smile at yourself in the mirror. Rest the brush lightly on the apple of the cheek and gently sweep the brush back toward the temple. Voila, gorgeous cheeks. Beautiful skin if youve got it, flaunt it. If your skin is clear and even-toned, you already have what the rest of us are trying to achieve with foundation. Consider using a tinted moisturizer instead. Or, go natural - forget the foundation during daylight hours. Foundation is made to cover imperfections. Okay, it does help keep your other makeup in place, but if youcan get away with not wearing it most of the time, you should. The rest of us aspire to that freedom. Go on and give us some hope. Your unique features make you who you are. Show off what youve got. Be the most beautiful you. ———————————————————- Allison Saunders is a MAC qualified Make-up Artist and the author of an amazing new course, “Hollywood Makeup Secrets” a step-by-step simple video system for maximizing your inner and outer beauty potential. About Islam - Prayers In The Quran

April 5th, 2008 by cynthyashtulman

By Kris A. O. The Quran provides us with many specific prayers that we may use for ourselves. The Quran contains the Contact Prayers in Sura 1, as well as other various prayers of supplication and commemoration. A list of Quranic prayers is provided here. God advises us in Sura 2, Verse 186: When My servants ask you about Me, I am always near. I answer their prayers when they pray to Me In the name of GOD, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. The very first prayer we encounter in the Quran is the Contact Prayers. These are the specific words used by Muslims five times a day for Salat. Sura 1 (The Key), Verses 1-7: Praise be to GOD, Lord of the universe. Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship; You alone we ask for help. Guide us in the right path; the path of those whom You blessed; not of those who have deserved wrath, nor of the strayers. Other Quranic prayers are; [2:128] Our Lord, make us submitters to You, and from our descendants let there be a community of submitters to You. Teach us the rites of our religion, and redeem us. You are the Redeemer, Most Merciful. [2:201] Our Lord, grant us righteousness in this world, and righteousness in the Hereafter, and spare us the retribution of Hell. [2:250] Our Lord, grant us steadfastness, strengthen our foothold, and support us against the disbelieving people. [2:286] Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make mistakes. Our Lord, and protect us from blaspheming against You, like those before us have done. Our Lord, protect us from sinning until it becomes too late for us to repent. Pardon us and forgive us. You are our Lord and Master. Grant us victory over the disbelieving people. [3:8] Our Lord, let not our hearts waver, now that You have guided us. Shower us with Your mercy; You are the Grantor. [3:16] Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us our sins, and spare us the agony of the hellfire. [3:26-27] Our god: possessor of all sovereignty. You grant sovereignty to whomever You choose, You remove sovereignty from whomever You choose. You grant dignity to whomever You choose, and commit to humiliation whomever You choose. In Your hand are all provisions. You are Omnipotent. You merge the night into the day, and merge the day into the night. You produce the living from the dead, and produce the dead from the living, and You provide for whomever You choose, without limits. [3:147] Our Lord, forgive us our sins, and our transgressions, strengthen our foothold, and grant us victory over the disbelievers. [3:191-192] Our Lord, You did not create all this in vain. Be You glorified. Save us from the retribution of Hell. Our Lord, whomever You commit to Hell are the ones You have forsaken. Such transgressors have no helpers. [3:193-194] Our Lord, we have heard a caller calling to faith and proclaiming: `You shall believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord, forgive us our transgressions, remit our sins, and let us die as righteous believers. Our Lord, shower us with the blessings you promised us through Your messengers, and do not forsake us on the Day of Resurrection. You never break a promise. [6:162-163] My Contact Prayers (Salat), my worship practices, my life and my death, are all devoted absolutely to GOD alone, the Lord of the universe. He has no partner. This is what I am commanded to believe, and I am the first to submit. [7:23] Our Lord, we have wronged our souls, and unless You forgive us and have mercy on us, we will be losers. [7:126] Our Lord, grant us steadfastness, and let us die as submitters. [7:155-156] You are our Lord and Master, so forgive us, shower us with Your mercy; You are the best Forgiver. And decree for us righteousness in this world, and in the Hereafter. We have repented to You. [10:10] Their prayer therein (in the Gardens of Bliss) is: Be You glorified, our god, their greeting therein is, Peace, and their ultimate prayer is: Praise be to GOD, Lord of the universe. [10:85-86] We trust in GOD. Our Lord, save us from the persecution of these oppressive people. Deliver us, with Your mercy, from the disbelieving people. [11:47] My Lord, I seek refuge in You, lest I implore You for something I do not know. Unless You forgive me, and have mercy on me, I will be with the losers. [12:101] My Lord, Initiator of the heavens and the earth; You are my Lord and Master in this life and in the Hereafter. Let me die as a submitter, and count me with the righteous. [14:35] My Lord, make this a peaceful land, and protect me and my children from worshiping idols. [14:40-41] My Lord, make me one who consistently observes the Contact Prayers (Salat), and also my children. Our Lord, please answer my prayers. My Lord, forgive me and the believers, on the day when the reckoning takes place. [17:80] My Lord, admit me an honorable admittance, and let me depart an honorable departure, and grant me from You a powerful support. [17:111] Praise be to GOD, who has never begotten a son, nor does He have a partner in His kingship, nor does He need any ally out of weakness. [18:10] Our Lord, shower us with Your mercy, and bless our affairs with Your guidance. [18:14] Our only Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We will never worship any other god beside Him. Otherwise, we would be far astray. [23:94] My Lord, let me not be one of the transgressing people. [23:97-98] My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whispers of the devils. And I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they come near me. [23:109; 118] Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and shower us with mercy. Of all the merciful ones, You are the Most Merciful. [25:65-66] Our Lord, spare us the agony of Hell; its retribution is horrendous. It is the worst abode; the worst destiny. [25:74] Our Lord, let our spouses and children be a source of joy for us, and keep us in the forefront of the righteous. [26:83-87] My Lord, grant me wisdom, and include me with the righteous. Let the example I set for the future generations be a good one. Make me one of the inheritors of the blissful Paradise And do not forsake me on the Day of Resurrection. [27:19] My Lord, direct me to be appreciative of the blessings You have bestowed upon me and my parents, and to do the righteous works that please You. Admit me by Your mercy into the company of Your righteous servants. [28:16] My Lord, I have wronged my soul. Please forgive me. [28:21] My Lord, save me from the oppressive people. [28:22] May my Lord guide me in the right path. [28:24] My Lord, whatever provision you send to me, I am in dire need for it. [37:100] My Lord, grant me righteous children. [43:13-14] As you rest on top of (what you ride on), you shall appreciate such a blessing from your Lord, and say, Glory be to the One who subdued this for us. We could not have controlled them by ourselves. We ultimately return to our Lord. [46:15] My Lord, direct me to appreciate the blessings You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do the righteous works that please You. Let my children be righteous as well. I have repented to You; I am a submitter. [59:10] Our Lord, forgive us and our brethren who preceded us to the faith, and keep our hearts from harboring any hatred towards those who believed. Our Lord, You are Compassionate, Most Merciful. [60:4-5] Our Lord, we trust in You, and submit to You; to You is the final destiny. Our Lord, let us not be oppressed by those who disbelieved, and forgive us. You are the Almighty, Most Wise. [66:8] Our Lord, perfect our light for us, and forgive us; You are Omnipotent. [71:28] My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and anyone who enters my home as a believer, and all the believing men and women… [112:1-4] He is the One and only GOD. The Absolute GOD. Never did He beget. Nor was He begotten. None equals Him. [113:1-5] I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak. From the evils among His creations. From the evils of darkness as it falls. From the evils of the troublemakers. From the evils of the envious when they envy. [114:1-6] I seek refuge in the Lord of the people. The King of the people. The god of the people. From the evils of sneaky whisperers. Who whisper into the chests of the people. Be they of the jinns, or the people.” [3:18; 47:19] GOD bears witness that there is no god except He, and so do the angels and those who possess knowledge … “There is no other god beside GOD,” and ask forgiveness of your sins and the sins of all believing men and women. How to Create a Gift Certificate Program

March 29th, 2008 by cynthyashtulman

By Jaya Schillinger It’s that time again - youre starting off a new year and thinking about your business goals for the year. One of those goals will most likely include an intention to bump up your business a little and bring in some more revenue. One promotional idea worth exploring is a gift certificate program. Retailers almost always have a gift certificate system in place, but a lot of service businesses don’t. Why not? The answer I hear most often is “I haven’t got around to it yet!” So I’m going to share a couple tips to get you started. What kind of gift certificates do you want? There are 2 basic types. It’s really nice to have both: The paid-for kind of gift certificate is purchased by one of your customers for another person. Not only is it a way to serve new customers, it’s a way to serve your current ones. People love sharing experiences, and when you create a really positive one for the recipient, the gift giver will feel great about it! Another type is the free gift certificate. That might be a gift from you to a current customer, a promotion to attract new ones, or a thank you gift for the people that help you throughout the year. Tracking your gift certificates The simplest way is to create a paper log-book or Excel spreadsheet. Besides recording the purchase date, amount, recipient’s name, and redemption date, also include the purchaser’s name & contact information in case you are must issue a refund as per some state laws. Showing the dollar value If you’re in a service business, most people buying gift certificates are paying for a particular service they want their friend to have. In this case, it’s really nice to write that on the certificate itself, for example, “Good for a 60-minute Reiki session.” But what if you raise your prices later or the recipient wants something different? It’s smart to put the dollar value on the certificate, in a very small discreet way. On free certificates, you might want to show the dollar value so people understand its worth, but write “no cash value” very small so that there’s no confusion about it being refundable for money. To present or not to present? Businesses often stipulate that the certificate “must be presented at time of service.” That policy does help prevent fraud, but you can’t enforce it without getting the customer really upset. This is where your tracking system is truly necessary. Don’t be surprised when 98% of gift certificate holders come in without the paperwork. Trust me on this one. It’s better to be elegantly prepared. Expiration dates In most states, it is illegal to put an expiration date on gift certificates that were sold for money. If you feel anxious having unused certificates floating around without expiry, you may put a “must be redeemed by” date on them, but here’s the rule: when the expiry date passes, you must refund the purchaser in full. Only after you’re refunded the purchaser in full can you void the certificate. The no-expiration rule does NOT apply to free certificates. Since no money has changed hands, the expiration date is up to you. Refunds You can pretty much create whatever policy you want, as long as you have one. You can offer cash refunds, “store credit only” refunds, or a combination. For example, if you sold an hour massage certificate for $100, but the redeemer only wants a $65 pedicure, your policy will determine whether they get cash back, credit towards future services, or if they can use the difference to buy products or put it towards the tip. Do keep in mind that if you should happen to go out of business, you are required by law to issue cash refunds to the purchasers of all unused gift certificates. That’s why you need to keep records. You will need to check with your particular state for any area specific laws that may govern your area. A good place to begin this search is with your states Department of Consumer Affairs. How to design your gift certificates There are 3 basic ways you can create your certificates. I’ll start with the least expensive ones first. Do-it-yourself gift certificates from your computerThe most affordable way is to use a program like Microsoft Word or Publisher. If you aren’t sure how to start from scratch, there are free templates you can download and customize at the Microsoft Template Gallery. Alternatively, most office supply stores have pre-printed gift certificate stationery for sale. You can format them with your computer, or even hand write them if you’ve got nice writing. Pre-printed gift certificates Just like ordering pre-printed checks, you can order pre-printed gift certificates. These cost a little more, but they can look really nice with your logo or embossing done on nice paper. This company even sells tracking forms you need, if you’re not sure how to do it yourself: www.giftcentral.com Credit-card style gift certificates If you’ve got a bigger business with a POS checkout system, these are pretty cool. It used to be that only huge retail stores had this type of certificate, but now anyone can sell them. Because they look like a credit card, people understand that they must present the card to use it, and it makes “store credit only” refunds really easy to manage. If your bank doesn’t offer them, here’s another source: www.customgiftcard.com Make it special Whatever kind of certificate you use, make it look as attractive as you can. It should fit the style of your business, and its perceived value should match the gift. So if you’ve got a $200 gift certificate for example, it should be on nice paper, in a nice envelope, or maybe even a gift box. Have fun creating your gift certificates! The Art of Seduction

March 28th, 2008 by cynthyashtulman

By Jason Ess The art of seduction - there’s something in that phrase that brings up images of a Casanova creating an effortless sexual magnetism and guiding a woman towards discovering his seductive charisma. In many ways seduction is an art form but the good news is that it won’t take you years of developing your talents and abilities like a master painter. The art of seduction has nothing to do with the traditional dating advice that pours from the mainstream media and dating websites. Most of the advice that you’ll find out there is at best useless and at worst counter-productive. Their guidance feeds into the now popular belief that the woman is the prize to be won and that the man should work hard to get her, casting himself at her feet like a lost puppy begging for attention. So how is the true art of seduction different? It involves ridding yourself of the programming that society tells you is the way to go. It’s reclaiming your sense of being a man who is naturally attractive to women, a man who has a strong sense of his own identity, needs and personal boundaries. Rest assured, the path towards becoming a master of the art of seduction is simpler than you may have ever believed. There are men who have taken this path and discovered the most effective methods, techniques and principles of generating powerful attraction. This removes the pain and embarrassment of searching around in the dark and falling flat on your face trying desperately to figure out what works - and what fails to work. The seduction community provides that guidance. Learn the powerful secrets of the art of seduction at http://www.seductionunderground.com. The Benefits Of Aromatherapy

March 26th, 2008 by cynthyashtulman

By Fiona Shearer-Hann Unless youve been asleep for the past few years, youve probably heard something about aromatherapy. In fact, you might even be interested in learning more about aromatherapy, and the benefits it possesses. Aromatherapy has actually been around for at least six thousand years. It was used in China in the form of incense burned in temples, and in the oils the ancient Egyptians used in embalming and other rituals. In some form or another, aromatherapy has been utilized in human civilization ever since. However, its only in recent years that aromatherapy has really come into its own. In fact, only now is it being seen as a genuine science, as well as an ancient art. To many people, the idea of aromatherapy is just that: therapy derived from aromas. But in actual fact, its much more. Aromatherapy involves the utilization of essential oils, which are oils derived from plant matter (these oils are generally extracted by distillation, although other methods are often employed to do so). The plant parts used include leaves, flowers, stems, bark, roots, even the rinds of fruits. These essential oils dont actually feel oily as such, but they are miscible in oil, which gives them their oily nature. Theyre very volatile, which accounts for their strong aroma, and contain a multitude of chemical compounds. Aromatherapy has been shown to be beneficial for a number of conditions, ranging from physical to mental ailments. Aromatherapy is particularly beneficial for stress (lavender oil is commonly used as a de-stressor), and many essential oils have an antibacterial or antifungal action, and can be applied directly to the skin (tea tree oil is an excellent example of this). Its not widely understood why essential oils have the effects on the body they do, but its most likely to do with the complex chemical structure of the essential oils, and the fact that the body can absorb these components (whether through inhalation, or through direct application through massage or the like). There are a number of ways aromatherapy is utilized, including: direct inhalation, steam inhalation (using a vaporizer or similar), in personal care products (added to creams, soaps, lotions etc), in a clay pot diffuser, a lamp ring diffuser or a nebulizing electric diffuser, or through massage with a carrier oil. There are also aromatherapy candles on the market, which when burned release the essential oils into the atmosphere in a similar way to a diffuser. Another common use of essential oils is in bathing, where a few drops of an essential oil are added to bath water, and mixed in vigorously. This is an excellent way for the user to both inhale the aromas, as well as absorb the compounds through the skin. However, before you get stuck straight into the use of aromatherapy, remember that natural does not necessarily equal safe! Essential oils contain powerful often toxic ingredients, and must be used with care. Many essential oils can not be applied directly to the skin (as they are highly irritating) and the majority should not be ingested on any circumstances. Remember also that when it comes to essential oils, less really is more. A few drops of any essential oil is all you need. Adding more will not increase the power of the essential oil, and may instead produce deleterious effects (not to mention wasting the essential oil, many of which are quite expensive). Before using essential oils, its a good idea to read more about them. Youll find several great resources both online and offline detailing the effects and uses of the most common essential oils. Youll also learn more about blending essential oils for maximum effect, and any safety considerations you have to be aware of. How Would You Like Windows in Your Sidewalk?

March 24th, 2008 by cynthyashtulman

By Delmar Germyn If you want to build yourself a real unique set of stepping stones or pour a sidewalk that everyone who sees it will talk about, try this. You can use this idea to make a terrific looking hypertufa trough or planter as well. The first thing you need to do is get a clean empty garbage can or five gallon pail and head down to your local auto glass shops and ask them if you could have the broken glass from the garbage. They have to pay to get rid of it so they will be glad to give it to you. You will be saving them money. I should add that it would be a good idea to take a good stout pair of gloves and a broom and shovel. You will have to scoop and sort a little and this broken glass can be a little irritating to the skin. The glass you want is the stuff from rear and side windows. Im sure you have seen one break at one time or another. They shatter into little cubes about or so in size. Get as much as you think you will need and take it home. Spread it out and clean out anything that is not glass. Now wash it with a hose and sweep it into a container. The next batch of concrete you mix use the window glass instead of your normal 1 -2 3 mix. Make it 1 cement 2 sand 2 aggregate 1 glass mix. (1 2 2 1) This makes a real interesting looking finish and you will be helping save some space in the landfill. You can use this mix in stepping stones, walkways, curbs, and just about any place you would use a standard concrete mix. Some of the glass will show on the surface and you can tell your friends that you have windows in the sidewalk. If you want a bit of color some recycle places crush old bottles. The glass from there has lots of different colors and is a bit finer than the window glass. It is excellent as a sand replacement for ornamental casting. Use a mix of 1 cement, 2 sand, 1 glass for this. An old time Seer, I have been around this Planet for 2.34 centuries. I used to travel with my dragon to fairs and teach gardening skills. I did a lot of work in the UK a couple of hundred years ago. Now, thanks to the Internet I can stay home with my wife and dog and dispense my knowledge without the hassles of passports and taxis to and from the airport. Planning The Perfect Wedding - Top Five Secrets Of A Successful Groom

March 22nd, 2008 by cynthyashtulman

By Scott Fromherz Let’s face it, the wedding is all about the bride. But behind every good bride is a rock steady groom who is ready for anything. Having successfully navigated one of life’s most exciting and important milestones, I feel it my duty to pass-on my hard earned advice. So without further ado, here are my top five “Secrets of a Successful Groom:” 1. Be a “Pillar Of Strength” - This wedding planning stuff is an emotional roller-coaster. You WILL fight, you WILL laugh, and one of you might even cry. Your primary role is to be steadfast and sure; to be “a shoulder to cry on.” To stand-up for your future wife when some wedding planner is trying to rip her off, or a photographer is giving her a bad deal. Be strong - Be a man. 2. You Really Do Care - You could probably care less whether the shoes are white or ivory, but you need to act like you really do care. Actually listen to what she’s asking you. It might seem like the most mundane question in the world, but just try to give your best answer…and then expect to be disagreed with. She may or may not need your input, but she definitely needs a sounding board for her ideas. 3. You Made the Right Decision - What comes with this emotional roller-coaster is the occasional feeling that you may have made the wrong decision in asking her hand in marriage. Did I jump the gun? Should I have waited longer? Am I going to be able to live with this woman for the rest of my life? These thoughts are completely NORMAL. Marriage is a huge commitment, and during the excitement of the ring-buying and the proposal you had briefly forgotten how serious it is. Just remember that you put a lot of thought into this decision, and you wouldn’t have made it if you didn’t think it was the right one. Keep telling yourself, “These thoughts are NORMAL.” 4. Start Thinking About Your Toast - It’s never to soon to start thinking about what your going to say for your toast. Some grooms don’t have to do this, but if you do, then start thinking about it. It’s amazing how hard it can be to come up with a few simple words. Consider using a template from a website or a book. 5. Don’t Forget About The Wedding Ring - You thought you were all done when you forked out your life’s savings for that giant rock on her finger. Guess what…you still have to buy her wedding ring. Talk to your jeweler about how much warning he needs to have them ready. It’s okay to bring the bride with you for this one. Well that’s it. I’m sure you can find some great tips in other articles, but I feel that these tips will serve you well. Just take a deep breath, be patient, and remember the golden rule: SHE IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
